Please give more details. AFAIK, none of the developers are (mainly)
working on a Mac, and I'm not sure whether our Mac people have Sonoma
and/or an M2.

Theoretically, if all prerequisites are fulfilled, it should work.
What problems did you experience? Again, we need more details, both
to help you and to update the build instructions if necessary.

You can ignore all of them, they are not relevant, AFAIK. The only
issue with the 'lilypond' and 'lilypond-devel' bundles from MacPorts
is what Jean has mentioned:

  https://trac.macports.org/ticket/67026

Essentially, you have to install the fonts from

https://github.com/ArtifexSoftware/urw-base35-fonts/archive/refs/tags/20200910.tar.gz

together with some fonts from TeXLive
(`texgyre{cursor,heros,schola}-*.otf`) to a place where FontConfig
finds them (I guess `~/.fonts` should work).
