probably most of us never thought about this situation because we use
control version for important files..
but I think that it's a valid point

in Linux it's myFile.ly~ (where the trailing ~ makes it invisible to the
file manager)
so a better name would be myFile-1.ly~ myFile-2.ly~ etc.
