New issue 798 by v.villenave: Enhancement: possible improvements to the
stem-length algorithm
http://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=798
In a very documented discussion, Pekka Siponen has suggested that the way
stem length are computed could be improved:
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-lilypond/2009-05/msg00015.html
For instance, in the attached example the last stem is obviously too short,
while the 3rd beat may not be optimal either:
\version "2.13.3"
\relative c'' { d8 c c4 d16 c b8 b4 }
Please read the whole discussion to find several well-documented opinions
on the subject.
