This is a fantastic idea - it would also be extremely useful for
reproducing swing in
many other styles of music. For example samba swing would convert { hh16
hh hh hh }
to something like \times 4/5 { hh16. hh16 hh16 hh16. } or even (if my maths
is right)
\times 8/7 { hh16 hh32. hh hh16 } - how pronounced the swing is depends on
the tempo,
and generally it is straighter at lower tempos.
