I do not recognize your problem. How are you using the Lilypond
fonts, do you use the standard lilypond-profile file to set
environment variables or have you linked the Lilypond files
to your texmf tree as described in the FAQ?
In particular, what is $MFINPUTS set to?
What does the command 'kpsewhich cmr8.tfm' return?
What command do you run when you get this printout,
lilypond or ly2dvi?
