1. Get new package 2. autoreconf -i Ok. 3. Add ACLOCAL_AMFLAGS= -I m4 to Makefile.am as libtoolize suggests 4. Remove all generated files 5. Run autoreconf -i again Breaks with: aclocal can't find directory "m4" autoconf: 2.61 (seems to be unchanged in git head) libtool: 2.2.4
