Was also fixed in 1.5.16. If your configure script is calling AC_PROG_CXX 
then you will have to use a similar workaround to libtool:

AM_CONDITIONAL(HAVE_CXX,
[test -n "$CXX" && ( test "X$CXX" != "Xno" &&

  (test "X$CXX" != "Xg++")))])

Note that all the tests are not really necessary, but... I was paranoid.
