Nope, it makes no difference: m4 never looks at what you do with
the arguments.
AU_ALIAS seems not to be part of official Autoconf interface. So I'd
take the second form then, right?
It is a mistake if AU_ALIAS is not officialized. It will not change,
you may assume it is public: I'll document it.
