No, but it is generated by libtool from the file
specified by the -export-symbols option.

This symbol file is wrong generated. Note the 
'cat ./EXPSYMS' line in my previous mail. This
line doesn't have to be there!

BTW: ld talks about a VERSION script when meaning this.
