I tried to execute libtool like this
libtool --mode=execute ../../../clients/Motif-2.0/uil/uil -o test3.uid
test3.uil
and got this error
severe: error opening source file: "-o"
Then i tried the same command with trace set
libtool --debug --mode=execute ../../../clients/Motif-2.0/uil/uil -o
test3.uid test3.uil
and got this output
libtool: enabling shell trace mode
+ test 5 -gt 0
+ arg=--mode=execute
+ shift
++ sed -e '1s/^X//' -e 's/[-_a-zA-Z0-9]*=//'

'"test3.uil"'
This lead me to remove the quoting in line 5373 in libtool:
from args="$args \"$file\"" to args="$args $file", and this seems to
solve the problem.
