OIC. It is certainly a bug for libtool not to do lo2o filtering if static
builds have been turned off for some reason, but on the other hand I think
the test would be more robust if we ran it in one of the demo directories
rather than using the installer's libtool build. I'll accept patches to fix
either/both of these...
