I was in touch over e-mail with Karl Berry in the meantime, and I got
the clarification: basically, FSF probably wouldn't be willing to
re-license, but what you mentioned above is correct - I can re-license
it on my own. However, given the fact mentioned in my first message -
that I'm stepping down as maintainer - I decided I wouldn't be willing
to do so at the moment. I'm sorry for this, but I hope you can utilize
some of other alike publicly available libraries, that may have
licensing terms that are more convenient for using by CFEngine.
