Despite first impression, you have actually found a valid issue.
However, it is not a bug of ours, rather with Solaris 10, which
points to an inaccuracy in GNU Inetutils!

Some versions of Solaris (10 and 8 are claimed) , together with some AIX (7.1
and 5.1)
as well as OSF/1 5.1, do not declare sethostname(3c) as expected in <unistd.h>,
which all other unices do, including OpenSolaris. This fact was attended to
recently
within Gnulib, viz. beginning of December 2011. This issue should be solvable
using
the new Gnulib module "sethostname", which we have to examine.

Thank you for pushing on this matter. Hopefully this will convince my colleges
that it would be useful to locate a machine with Solaris 10 for our
developmental
access.

Regards,
Mats Erik Andersson, on behalf of GNU Inetutils.
