Thank you for the patch text. Now evaluated on my responsibility and found
to be spot on, thus committed, except that our upstream code does not yet
use PATHDEF_LOGCONFD, which is an alternative we have not yet implemented,
nor have we completed the evaluation!

I was also hoping to resolve, using this mechanism, the test failure of
Inetutils at NixOS with the Shishi code active, but it did not help.
