I have just pushed the changes needed to get fully compilable source
code for FreeBSD 8.0. The same changes leave exacly one last obstacle
for successful compiling also for GNU/kFreeBSD 8.1. The problem is
best explained by Guillem Jover [1].

Let me add that neither GNU/Linux, OpenBSD, nor FreeBSD are touched
by this issue. It seems clear that the main problems stems from GNUlib.
Thus Sergey and Simon ought be the perfect candidates for examining
and determining actions in this matter. I am myself certainly wanton
of knowledge about this mechanism.
