    We would like your help, but as with all free software projects,
    most of the initiative must be done by the contributor.

    Please find something that interests you in the project, make some
    work on it and send a patch when you feel you have something.  The TODO
    file contains a list of things that we think are most important.
    This is by no means an exhaustive list.  If you find something that's
    important from your point of view, that will be a good starting point too.

I suggest putting this info into the job description, to stem the flood
of people who write in but never actually contribute anything.
