I propose to remove the __P((..)) cruft from the function
declarations. We can safely assume ANSI compilers nowadays, can't
we?
We don't really use the __P(()) cruft properly anyway, it used in some
places, and in some places it isn't used. GCC also doesn't even have
a K&R mode anymore. I also spuspect that a bunch of C90 or C99
features have crept into the code anyway.
So I don't have any objections.
