   From my part, I'd gladly do a release, but, unfortunately, I've got no
   admin privileges for the project. 

Why are admin privileges needed to make a release?  Is it not just a
matter of making a tag in the CVS tree, uploading the tarball that you
get after `make distcheck` to ftp.gnu.org, and posting a announcment
to address@hidden

   We'll have to ask Jeff or Marcus to do this or to delegate admin
   rights to one (or both) of us.

Probobly better to give us both, then if one of us vanishes, the other
can do something without any great problems
