Sure, but first I'd like to run a couple of tests more (and of course
wait till Paul responds -- whether it works on his box or
not). Strange enough, I wasn't able to reproduce the situation on my
solaris box until I removed paths.h :) I have also notified the
autoconf developers about the bug in AC_CHECK_MEMBER(S), it has
already been fixed in the repository.

Alpha is still not available after problems it (she?) experienced
last month, so I believe we'd better upload the patch directly to
ftp.gnu.org when we're sure it fixes the problem.
