Oh, great, thanks!  I'll thus request a link to our (somewhat outdated;
please anyone help clean up) list of project ideas to be included on the
main GNU project ideas page.

(I'll also sync the wiki to the GNU Hurd web pages -- long overdue...)

That completely depends on the student.  In general, yes, it ought to be
possible.  We have to carefully assess whether any student applying (if
any) is a match to the mentoring time you'll have available.  That means
to start discussions early, and let the students show that they're a fit
for the task you'd like to mentor, within limits, of course, because
they'll typically also have other commitments right now.
