I think this is a worthy goal (Guile bindings would be lovely!), but
maybe not the easiest way to get started since there are currently no
Guile bindings to write Hurd translators.
For a start, I would recommend either writing a simple translator in C
with libtrivfs, or trying out the Common Lisp bindings that were written
a while back as part of GSoC: <https://github.com/flavioc/cl-hurd/>.
