it still had plenty of free RAM, the system wasn't doing anything else.
No network activity: there are no packages scheduled to download, the hang happens *after* the download. In case of a crash, I restart and there is nothing to download and it will hang again.Are you logged in locally or through SSH ?
I was using telnet to the system. It happens also when I use the local console though.
