trying to build gnumach.gz

Hello, I'm trying to build gnumach.gz from git, but I'm having some 
issues.

I'm trying the instructions from: 
http://www.gnu.org/software/hurd/microkernel/mach/gnumach/building.html 
, but i'm using git, not cvs, as it appears to be more up to date and 
the repos listed at 
http://www.gnu.org/software/hurd/source_repositories.html use git.

I've installed the gnumach headers and mig, but I cannot get "make 
gnumach.gz" to work. I get the following error:

I've also noticed that the instructions aren't listed in a very linear 
way and have a number of [TODO]s listed, with missing info. I'm willing 
to fix some of that, though I don't want to make changes until I get it 
to build myself.
