IIRC it's a know error. hurd=20080607-4 will fix it, you can fetch its
debian/ directory from
svn://svn.debian.org/svn/pkg-hurd/hurd/trunk/debian

Should I have to change the names of files and directories to -4 or is it just
a matter of replacing the debian directory? Are there any other changes?

Well in any case glibc is very long to compile yes.  Maybe it's possible
to just ask for the compilation of libhurduser though.

How to do it using dpkg-buildpackage? Or should I have to just run
make libhurduser from the top level directory of the glibc source?
