Did you try pulling with --fallback? I believe if substitute fetching
fails Guix won't build from source unless you add that flag.
Perhaps the error message in Guix pull could be updated to not say
--8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8---
guix pull: error: You found a bug: the program ...
failed to compute the derivation for Guix ....
Please report the COMPLETE output above by email to <bug-guix@gnu.org>.
--8<---------------cut here---------------end--------------->8---
When the store protocol error is
--8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8---
ERROR:
1. &store-protocol-error:
message: "some substitutes for the outputs of derivation ... failed
(usually happens due to networking issues); try `--fallback' to build
derivation from source "
status: 1
--8<---------------cut here---------------end--------------->8---
and --fallback isn't provided.
