With bash 2.03.0(1), readline 4.3 (or 4.2) compiled with gcc 3.2/glibc
2.2.5/GNU ld version 2.13.90.0.4 on Linux version 2.4.20-rc3 compiled
with gcc version 3.2, attempting to run configure for guile 1.6.3.
configure hangs indefinitely at this point:
checking for rl_pre_input_hook... yes
checking if readline clears SA_RESTART flag for SIGWINCH...
