I get the same build error as Martin.  My system is a Debian GNU/Linux
2.2 with kernel 2.2.18, and ...

        libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x4001a000)
        /lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x40000000)
address@hidden:~$ ls -l /lib/libc.so.6
