Update: I found what look like the docs in the following section, 22.10

So make this a suggestion that the 1D and 2D documentation be at least
parallel (both in separate sections or both in the same section). Since
22.9 is so short I think they should both be in the same section, i.e.,
merge 22.9 and 22.10.
