Brian,

Here's two tests on the Linux side.

If I run ggv and use the gui to step to page 304 and step to next page, 
the program hangs and after a few attempts to move to another page, I 
get

I also tried with GS and stepping forward a bunch of pages (this fails 
around page 250) I get this (really long since single page stepping).  
However, I'm less certain that this might be some kind of program 
problem since it steps through the buffer very fast.
