hello,

I have tried to upgrade my debian squeeze and the kernel failed to install. It seems to be a problem with grub-install :

address@hidden:/home/red0queen# grub-install /dev/xvda1
/usr/sbin/grub-probe: error: no such disk.
Auto-detection of a filesystem of /dev/mapper/srvlan-boot failed.
Please report this together with the output of "/usr/sbin/grub-probe --device-map=/boot/grub/device.map --target=fs -v /boot/grub" to <address@hidden>

address@hidden:/home/red0queen# /usr/sbin/grub-probe --device-map=/boot/grub/device.map --target=fs -v /boot/grub
/usr/sbin/grub-probe: info: Cannot stat `/dev/disk/by-id/ata-QEMU_HARDDISK_QM00001', skipping.
/usr/sbin/grub-probe: info: changing current directory to /dev.
/usr/sbin/grub-probe: info: changing current directory to snd.
/usr/sbin/grub-probe: info: changing current directory to by-path.
/usr/sbin/grub-probe: info: changing current directory to net.
/usr/sbin/grub-probe: info: changing current directory to shm.
/usr/sbin/grub-probe: info: changing current directory to srvlan.
/usr/sbin/grub-probe: info: changing current directory to mapper.
/usr/sbin/grub-probe: info: opening srvlan-boot.
/usr/sbin/grub-probe: error: no such disk.

srvlan is a xen vm, with LVM.
It can be due to my virtualisation system xen ? It's a knowing bug ?
Please, save my life (and my system) !

Regards
