Thanks for the reply, adrian.
You're welcome.

stored image of TrueCrypt's MBR and load it into the correct place in
memory. Since that would also contain a partition table, there would be no
hiding or unhiding necessary.
A partition table... interesting.

According to this article:
http://www.dewassoc.com/kbase/hard_drives/master_boot_record.htm both the
MBR, then the Volume boot record that any boot manager directs the
processor to will load into the same memory location.
Let's suppose that is true (I have not checked it).

GRUB 'boot'. So even though it would be one step backwards, i.e.,
substituting another MBR for the MBR that got to GRUB, it should work. I'll
probably try it sometime in the next week.
Bean123 is the one who can advise you he knows how to move grub into another place of memory, load another piece of code where grub was and then let the processor load the substituted grub.

However what's your problem? That TrueCrypt's MBR should be there instead of GRUB's MBR because if you select Windows to boot you always Grub boot thanks to TrueCrypt's MBR?

If that's your problem I advise you to use:
