I'm an absolute novice with linux!
I desperately need a step-by-step guide as to how to stop GRUB v0.97 booting
linux instead of windows by default; may sound simple to you pro's but to me
it's a big problem!
Notes
linux & winxp are on separate HDs
win xp was installed first, then linux alongside grub
grub calls windowsxp 'other' on the bootloader
http://www.gnu.org/software/grub/manual/html_node/Configuration.html#Configuration
in /boot/grub/grub.conf
the line you want to modify is, I believe, 'default #'.
count how many entries there are _before_ the 'other' entry and put that
number as the # after default.
you _may_ want to set 'fallback #' to the # currently set
originally/currently as default.
