Gnus/5.110006 (No Gnus v0.6) Emacs/23.0.0 (gnu/linux) |
I have grub 0.97 installed by way of gentoo's sys-boot/grub-0.97-r3.ebuild.
My / is jfs; /boot is not a separate filesystem.
Grub refuses to boot any kernels whose bzImage is larger than approx
2.5 Megs. (2504 K boots, 2552 K does not; I've yet to determine the
exact threshold.)
I get error 2 (ERR_BAD_FILETYPE).
I can't tell from the src exactly what the problem is, but someone on
lkml has confirmed that lilo can boot larger bzImages than that, so I
have to presume it is a grub bug....
Any ideas?
