RE: [bug #14959] RFE: Test boot function

 For this feature a watchdog is the best solution! Some systems can set
a watchdog from Bios, but GRUB can also be patched to set the watchdog
before calling the OS
If the OS doesn't come up and feeds the dog, then the system will
automatically reset and the old system come back
