Dear Grub Developers,

I have a problem with grub, in particular the timeout countdown does not show... whatever I do with grub.conf. I always have to push the "enter" key to have the system boot... this is quite annoying since the computer I have problems with is administered from remote...

I use grub version 0.96-r2 (gentoo x86-32, version 2005.1), and my grub.conf is:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
default 0
timeout 30

title Gentoo Linux MOST RECENT
#:0 <-- type: 0 => linux, 1 => windows, 2 => other
       root (hd0,0)
       kernel /vmlinuz root=/dev/hda3

title Gentoo Linux PREVIOUS
#:0 <-- type: 0 => linux, 1 => windows, 2 => other
       root (hd0,0)
       kernel /vmlinuz.old root=/dev/hda3

title Change the colors
       #:2 <-- type: 0 => linux, 1 => windows, 2 => other
       color light-green/brown blink-red/blue
title Change the colors2
       #:2 <-- type: 0 => linux, 1 => windows, 2 => other
       color magenta/blue black/magenta
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I manage more than one computer, and there is only one having this problem ! (I can't see any difference with the configuration of the others)

thank you

gsg
