problem with grub damaging/hiding original partition.

I keep having a problem when trying to multi boot on my machine. I already have a windows XP Pro partition on the 120GB HD but when I hide the (hd0,0) and install windows 2003 to the (hd0,1) and boot to it, I can no longer get into the XP partition. The loading splash screen for XP comes up but then I get a message that says that the AUTOCHK can not be found and I get a blue screen. I am at the point right now where I can only get into the windows 2003 partition and to be able to boot into the XP partition I would have to use PartitionRecovery to recover the partition and boot back into it. I have tried unsuccessfully to unhide the (hd0,0) partition and make it active but with no success.

Does anyone have suggestions or ideas?
Also, when will GRUB2 be released?

Thanks in Advance,

Guillermo Gutierrez
