Hi listers.I have a back-up that contains stage* files from grub 0.92. I do a bare metal restore using the latest Knoppix CD which has grub 0.93. Last thing before reboot, still in the Knoppix CD, I do grub, root() and setup() and there are no errors reported. Yet upon next reboot there is no grub prompt just the cursor in the upper left corner of the screen and ONLY a reset can make it tick again! So my question is, should this kind of setup (install an older version of grub using a newer one) work or not? I mean, does it lock after reboot because there is a bug in grub 0.93 or because a 0.93 can not corectly install a 0.92?
