Yes, but it still doesn't boot ;(.
If I change grub/stage2/builtins.c this way, grub reboots the pc immediately 
after loading stage1.5.

My steps to load grub in the mbr:
# grub
embed /path/to/fs_stage1_5 (hd0)
install /path/to/stage1 (hd0) (hd0)1+i /path/to/stage2 /path/to/menu.lst
