Put a menu.lst file containing the commands in the Grub directory (where you
copied the stage files). If you don't know where your Grub dirtectory is,
from the GRUB shell type:
find /boot/grub/stage1
Which will tell you the disk/partition where it lies.
Btw there's a menu.lst template file in the GRUB source tarball if you need it.
