grub-install with error

Hi,

This perhaps not a bug and is user error, but I have been searching for an answer with no avail.

I have Windows XP inistall on the first partition, and Movix installed on the 5th partition. I have create grub to boot of the floppy and able to select either OS to boot from.

I now ready to install grub on the master MBR on the hard drive, I boot the laptop from the cdrom running Linux Knoppix 2.4.20. Once the laptop booted, I issue the following command from the shell and received the error:

grub-install /dev/hda

mkdir: cannot create directory '/boot/grub': Read-Only file system

Am I missing anything. Your help is much appreciated.
