              Dell Lattitude LS
              IBM 20 GB IC25N020ATCS05-0 HD

              I install RH 8.0. I create 2 partitions:
              hda1 18G /
              hda2 2G swap

Everything seems to install correctly. I
              reboot and get:
              ...
              Creating block devices
              Creating root device
              mkrootdev: label / not found
              Mounting root filesystem
              mount: error 2 mounting ext3
              pivotroot: pivot_root(/sysroot,
              /sysroot/initrd) failed: 2
              umount /initrd/proc failed: 2
              Freeing unused memory: 212k freed
Kernel Panic: No init found. Try passing init= option to
kernel

I reinstall and select default partitioning and get the
same result.

Note that LILO works without issue and is what I ended up using.
