I have implement it for myself now.
So, you can take more time with it, if you want.
(Are this words understandable?)
In my version, GRUB connects the APM only, 
if you boot a Multiboot Kernel.
Will it exactly the same be in your version?
Or will a flag in the Multiboot header indicate
that?
