Please ensure that the "boot sequence" or "First boot device" in the

I will try this at home and kiss you all if it works then :-)

I woder _why_ my old Harddisk has bootet from this controller!
It had an (initial) lilo MBR on it, which I wrote some time ago when 
the hdd was connectet as primary slave at the first controller. After
I moved it to the hpt372 I noticed _no_ difference (writing new lilo
MBRs due to newer kernels).

All the time I never switched the boot sequence.

Then the hdd died (guess which company!) and the knew WD800JB behaves,
well, mysterious :-)

But I will look if the answer at the soyo site (which does not explain
why the old disk worked...).
