Hi

I have the same problem. Luckily I tried this on a separate disk and
that cannot be booted anymore. But I can mount that disk as a slave
and copy files from/to it. I would love to boot from it again.

fdisk, fsck, grub.conf all look good.

Tried to load grub on a HD that had LILO on it.  Now when I try to boot
the machine it displays the word GRUB, then just hangs there.

Luckily I took the advice and made a boot disk before I tried to load
GRUB!

What do I need to do now?  Is it possible to fix this?
