Separate boot partition. Two IDE hdd, one with FreeBSD and Debian/GNU
Linux (and room for the HURD, but not installed yet), another one
(slave) with MS-Windows.
Installing from floppy, or from grub shell under Linux succeeded without
any complaint or problem. All OS are bootable as advertised in the info
files.
grub-install handles smoothly the separate boot partition.
The remapping of the keyboard for an (apx) azerty french : no problem.
use of `find' : no problem.

That's all !
