Re: About grub feature

A good idea to see in GRUB a protable boot loader. But we have to
consider, that workstations for example already have boot monitors
with complex functionality, for example handling the system environment.

So my idea is, that GRUB should also learn all the addition features
of the different hardware platforms, like managing a local environment
(litte editor functionality, for example), GRUB command shell should
go over into a "full boot monitor" with a common use over different
platforms + plus special feature from platform to platform.

...
...

And my aiming "dream" of GRUB is, that it will become part of 
the system boot monitor/bios !

A SUN workstation and a PC should include GRUB as loader, burned and
programmed in the ROM chip !!!!!!!!!

Conclusion: What I want to say: Some boot monitors of workstation
can partially more than GRUB, and GRUB should learn....
On the other hand, most boot monitors are not convinient for the user,
GRUB is !! 
Let's have a marriage !!
