Compilation option for exception handling

Hi,

  I am working within UNIX enviroment on Digital Personal Workstation AU600.
I try to use exception-handling function within my code but encounted
problem of "Internal Compiler Error". At first the compiling did not pass
without option "-fhandle-exceptions". Then I added the option but failed
with the compiler error. I checked the man page but found there was no help
on that option. My question is whether the option is fully supported or I
have some way to walk around?
