I've managed to crash gnubg Version GNU Backgammon 1.00.000-mingw
20130519, running the command:
load commands c:\users\ian\saved games\43Z-reply.txt
where the command file contains:
________________________
set player 1 gnubg
set board 4HPhASLgc/ABMA
set turn Blue
set dice 6 5
play

I cannot reproduce that (on a unix system), but the command file is not
entirely clear :
- "set turn Blue" is "set turn 1", (the bottom player) I presume
- there must be a "new session", "new match ..." or "set matchid"
implicit/missing at the beginning
Could you try to add the above to the commands file and start gnubg from a
command window with "gnubg -c C:\...\commands-file"
Or just start it from a command window, do what you reported, and see if
something interesting is printed there.
