A few extra details (if they can help):
if I manually resize the window, then the minimize/restore
sequence works properly (previous size
correctly restored).
The trouble is only when I maximize
the window size via the button or double clicking on the
title bar: then the minimize/restore
sequence restores the size before the maximize.
