hmmmm ... (15 minutes later) ... my fault. My redhat was missing some
devel libraries, that's probably why X wasn't supported. Can you check
the binary rpm again?

What do you want me to do? I never worked with sqlite and prepared my
postgresql database using the script in share/gnubg/scripts/. Shall I
write soemthing like 

"if sqlite then
elif postgresql then
elif do nothing"

I know from work that it's always tricky using sql scripts/statements
in databases. You can run into deep problems when up- or downgrading.
